CIECA held “the 16th Taiwan-Peru Joint Business Councils Meeting” at Regent Taipei on September 26, 2023 and was successfully concluded. The Peruvian delegation led by Dr. Rosa Bueno, President, Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL) and her spouse have visited Taiwan for the first time after the Covid-19 pandemic. It shows that Peru pays high attention to PeruTaiwan economic and trade relations. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Mike Hung, Vice Chairman of CIECA, Taiwan and Dr. Rosa Bueno, President of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL). During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views with their counterparts on promoting bilateral economic and trade relations and exploring investment opportunities. Mr. Steven Huei-Yuan Tai, Minister on Home Assignment, Department of International Cooperation and Economic Affairs, MOFA, Taiwan was invited to deliver remarks at the meeting. Nearly 80 representatives from industries, government, and academia attended the said meeting. Learning from Taiwan’s experience, the Lima Chamber of Commerce planned to develop and deploy in Peru its own smart technology. The conference focused on “the Economic and Commercial Outlook and Development in Taiwan & Peru” and “Future of Business: Smart Tech-EV, AI Healthcare” with the latter specifically targeting the transportation and medical industries. Speakers include Dr. Yen Huai-Shing, Senior Deputy Executive Director, CIER’s WTO and RTA Center; Ms. Mónica Chávez Camacho, Manager, Foreign Trade Dept. of CCL; Ms. Cindy Hernandez, Senior Marketing Specialist, Noodoe; and Mr. Jason Miao, Sales Director, Imedtac.
