The Czech Republic’s President of Senate Miloš Vystrčil visit to Taiwan in 2020 has raised a wave of excitement in Taiwan over the past two years. On March 25, Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of the Deputies of the Czech Republic led a delegation of more than 160 people to visit Tai-wan. The relationship between Taiwan and the Czech Republic continued to grow, demonstrating the close cooperation between the two countries. The members of the Czech delegation included high-level officials and academic experts. The business delegation covered a wide range of industries, including smart cities, aerospace technology, information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI), energy technology (hydrogen energy, energy storage), and innovative services, national defense industry, medical care, semiconductors, smart machinery, tourism, automobiles, media etc. It shows Czech Republic’s strong de-termination to further all-faceted cooperation with Taiwan. The public itinerary for the first stop of the delegation was to attend the 18th Session of the Taiwan-Czech Joint Business Council Meeting. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Henry Chih-Shang Kao, Chairman of CIECA and Mr. Jaroslav Hanák, President of Confederation of In-dustry of the Czech Republic. Ms. Wang Mei-Hua, Minister of Economic Affairs and Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of the Deputies of Czech Republic were invited to deliver greeting remarks respectively. Minister Wang said “technological innovation and manufacturing industries remain Taiwan’s economic forte. Even under the impacts of the global pandemic, the Russo-Ukrainian war, and the U.S.-China trade war, Taiwan remains a stable economy. Many opportunities for cooperation exist between the Czech auto industry and Taiwan's high-tech and semiconductor industries.” She looked forward to continuing to deepen cooperation between Taiwan and the Czech Republic in related fields in the future. Speaker Markéta Pekarová Adamová also said “the bilateral trade between Taiwan and the Czech Republic has steadily grown in recent years. They are not only important economic and trade partners, but democratic partners as well. More than 130 representatives from important Taiwanese manufacturers and public associations attended the meeting. A heavyweight speaker, Mr. Jack Cheng, CEO of MIH Consortium, was invited to share the trend of developing electric vehicles in Taiwan; he invited the Czech side to join the platform to develop electric vehicles together. He looked forward to creating new business opportunities for developing electric vehicles, if successfully done, it would erect a new milestone of Taiwan-Czech technology cooperation. Besides, Taiwania Capital established a Central and Eastern European Investment Fund in 2022. Mr. David Weng, CEO of Taiwania Capital shared his investment layout in the Czech Re-public during the meeting. The Networking Reception was held after the meeting. Mr. Chen Chern-Chyi, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Mr. Petr Očko, Director General of Ministry of Industry and Trade were invited to de-liver greeting remarks and interacted with businessmen from both sides. In addition, the ceremony of signing cooperation memorandums was held during the Networking Reception. CIECA especially invited Chairman Henry Chih-Shang Kao, President Jaroslav Hanák, Deputy Minister Chen Chern-Chyi, and Director General Petr Očko to witness the signing of a total of five cooperation memorandums. Representatives in attending the reception from Taiwan side included SMS Infocomm, APEX Dynamics, TaiDoc Technology Corporation, CPC Chieftek, etc. They discussed cooperation with Czech companies in the fields of lithium batteries, electronic medical equipment, telemedicine, precision machinery, etc. The economic and trade relations between Taiwan and Czech have reached a record-high level. More than 250 people attended the event. The turnout was unprecedented. With a large-scale delegation led by Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of the Deputies of the Czech Republic, the economic and trade relations be-tween Taiwan and the Czech Re-public have reached a new stage. Taiwan looked forward to cooperating with the Czech Republic in the fields of economy, technology, culture, and education in the future. In addition to further deepen the friendship between the two countries.

The five groups of memorandums of cooperation are as follows:
1. The MOU signed by Mr. Van Fan, Senior Business Development Manager, SMS Infocomm and Mr. Stanislav Cingros, Managing Director, IBG s.r.o.
2. The MOU signed by Mr. Van Fan, Senior Business Development Manager, SMS Infocomm and Mr. Lukas Doskocil, CEO, STIMVIA.
3. The MOU signed by Dr. Arthur Kuo, CEO & VP, APEX Dynamics and Mr. Radek Kanovsky, CEO, APEX Dynamics Czech (RAVEO).
4. The MOU signed by Ms. Chen Lih-Fen, President, CPC Chieftek Precision and Radek Kanovsky, CEO, RAVEO.
5. The MOU signed by Mr. Kenny Chi, Executive Vice President, Head of Sales & Marketing, TaiDoc Technology Corporation and Mr. Emil Vareka, CEO, ICONTIO.
