CIECA Was invited to a Luncheon with Mr. Mark Pearson, Director of NZCIO on February 20, 2023

At the invitation of the New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office (NZCIO), Chairman Henry Chih-Shang Kao, Secretary General Frank Wu, Director Hedy Lee, and Mr. Chen Chao-Yih, Chairman of Taiwan-New Zealand Business Council attended the luncheon held by Mr. Mark Pearson, Director of NZCIO. Ms. Renee Bates, Deputy Director of NZCIO, Ms. Tina Wilson, Trade Director of NZCIO, and Ms. Alexandra Reuhman, Section Head of Economic Affairs of NZCIO also attended the luncheon. The two sides listed the industrial agenda items of the “The 2023 Joint Conference of the Taiwan-New Zealand & New Zealand-Taiwan Business Councils,” in the hope of doing their best to promote cooperation. The Taiwan-New Zealand Economic Joint Conference resumed in 2018 and held a meeting in Taipei that year and another one in Wellington in 2019. It was then suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement between New Zealand and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu on Economic Cooperation (ANZTEC). The Taiwan-New Zealand Economic Joint Conference intents to host, before or after the New Zealand-Taiwan Economic Consultations, a non-governmental economic joint meeting and invites New Zeland businessmen to organize a delegation to visit Taiwan.
