CIECA Attended “2024 Celebrating the Republic Day of India” on January 22

At the invitation of the India Taipei Association, CIECA attended “2024 Celebrating the Republic Day of India” on January 22, 2024. During the event, Mr. Manharsinh Yadav, Director General of the India Taipei Association, congratulated for Taiwan’s recent successful completion of a democratic election, reflecting its highly developed democratic system. Director General Manharsinh Yadav pointed out that under the “New India” vision initiated by Indian Prime Minister Modi, many large Taiwanese investors in India have benefited from manufacturing incentives such as “Made in India” and the “Production Linkage Incentive Program” policies. The people-to-people exchanges have also continued to deepen in the past few years. “Taiwan has already been an active place for many Indian students to study. There are currently more than 3,000 Indian students in Taiwan. The bilateral relationship between India and Taiwan is built on shared democratic values and strong industrial mutual benefit and complementarity. Together, both countries will surely develop further in the future,” Mr. Yadav mentioned. Dr. Jaushieh Joseph Wu, Minister of Foreign Affairs was invited to deliver a speech as a distinguished guest. He pointed out that Taiwan opened an economic and cultural office in Mumbai last year, which will facilitate bilateral people-to-people exchanges. He also expressed hope to restart the direct flights between Taipei and New Delhi in the not distant future. “India will play an even more important role in the Indo-Pacific region. Taiwan and India will, hopefully, continue to deepen cooperation in the fields of technology, medicine, and education for building a more resilient supply chain and cooperative relationship base upon a democratic partnership,” Minister Wu further emphasized. Many other dignitaries as well as foreign ambassadors and representatives were present on that occasion. The scene was very lively.
