CIECA Was Invited to Attend the “Celebration of Australia-Taiwan Friendship” Enevt on June 8, 2023

CIECA Chairman Henry Chih-Shang Kao and Director Hedy Lee of CIECA’s Asia Pacific Department attended the “Celebration of Australia-Taiwan Friendship” event which was hosted by Ms. Jenny Bloomfield, Representative of Australia Office in Taipei. The event was held at 3rd Fl. of the Grand Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Taipei on June 8, 2023. There were many distinguished guests present, including ROC Vice President William Ching-Te Lai; Secretary-General of National Security Council Wellington Koo; Foreign Minister Joseph Wu; and high-ranking officials from Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Academia Sinica. In addition, the key persons in the Australian Committee of CIECA including Mr. Yang Wei-Fuu, Chair-man of ROC-Australia Business Council and Chairman of Taoyuan International Airport; Mr. Jason Lin, National Policy Advisor to the ROC President; Mr. Henry Chih-Shang Kao, Chairman of CIECA; and Ms. Hedy Lee, Director of CIECA all at-tended the event. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its establishment, the Australian Office in Taipei specially edited a photo album titled “Australia-Taiwan Friendship Year－40 Years, 40 Stories.” Important representatives of the Joint Conference of the Australia-Taiwan & ROC-Australia Business Councils have appeared in the photo album many times. In addition, the protagonists and related agency personnel in the 40 stories were arranged to take a group photo on stage. A few Australian indigenous art works were exhibited at the venue; several Taiwanese and Australian indigenous artists gave live performances too. For the dinner there were nearly 50 tables filled with guests from political, academic, business, and cultural circles. The atmosphere was extremely pleasant.
