Mr. Henry Chih-Shang Kao, Chairman of CIECA, Hosted in Taipei a Luncheon in Honor of a Cross-Party Delegation from Australian Parliament on December 5, 2022

On December 5, 2022, Chairman Henry Chih-Shang Kao entertained in Taipei a delegation of Australian cross-party members of parliament at the Regent Hotel. There were six members of the delegation, including Ms. Libby Coker, Chair of Joint Standing Committee on the National Disability Insurance Scheme; Ms. Meryl Swanson, Chair of Standing Committee on Agriculture from Australian Labor Party; Mr. Barnaby Joyce, Shadow Minister for Veteran Affairs and Former Deputy Prime Minister from the Nationals; Mr. Scott Buchholz, Deputy Chair of Joint Standing Committee on Trade and Investment Growth from Liberal National Party of Queensland; Mr. Terry Young, Deputy Chair of Standing Commit-tee on Employment, Education and Training; and Mr. Gavin Pearce, Deputy Chair of Parliamentary Joint Committee on the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integ-rity from Liberal Party of Australia. The accompanying guests including Mr. James Chiao, CEO of Smart Cities Consulting Technology Inc.; Mr. H. Steve Hsieh, Chairman of Taiwan Lottery Co., Ltd.; Mr. Alex Wu, Chairman of Hunter's Dream Estate Pty Ltd; Mr. Chen Zeng-Weng, Director of Animal Technology Re-search Center, Agricultural Technology Research Institute; Mr. Lin Hsin-Tien, General Manager of Purchasing Department, China Steel Corporation; Mr. Hsu Hao-Chieh, Deputy Director of Department of Corporate Planning, Taiwan Power Company; and Ms. Kristy Y. H. Cheng, Deputy Counselor, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia joined in the grand event. This luncheon was the first event of the visiting delegation in Taiwan. At the outset of the event, Chairman Kao welcomed the delegation to visit Taiwan and shared the results and experiences of "The 35th Joint Conference of the Australia-Taiwan & ROC-Australia Business Councils" held recently by CIECA and his personal attendance of “The 36th CACCI Conference.” Mr. James Chiao, CEO of Smart Cities Consulting Technology Inc. also took this opportunity to propose the ar-eas where bilateral cooperation could be strengthened. During the meeting, distinguished guests from Taiwan and Australia conducted in-depth exchanges of views on areas such as smart agriculture, food trade and energy cooperation.
