An Irish Parliamentary Delegation Visited CIECA

An Irish Parliamentary Delegation, led by Ms. Erin McGreehan, visited CIECA on October 30, 2025. The meeting was chaired by CIECA Chairman Joseph Jye-Cherng Lyu, during which both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on Taiwan–Ireland economic cooperation, educational exchanges, and renewable energy development. Chairman Lyu extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed appreciation for Irish Parliament’s longstanding support for Taiwan–Ireland relations. He noted that this meeting provided an important opportunity to strengthen industrial interaction and deepen bilateral economic collaboration. Members of the Irish delegation highlighted Ireland for being a competitive hub of innovation and a financial center within the European Union, and stressed the complementary needs for both Ireland and Taiwan in sectors such as semiconductors, green energy, and technological innovation. They expressed the hope to establish a regular platform for dialogue and cooperation in the future. Chairman Lyu reaffirmed CIECA’s commitment to further promoting exchanges with the Irish business community and welcomed exploration of new areas of collaboration by both sides on academic research, renewable energy, and agri-food industries to achieve greater mutual benefits.
