On June 12, 2026, Mr. Richard Lee, Honorary President of the Taiwanese Business Association of New Zealand (TBANZ), visited CIECA. The visit was hosted by Secretary General Frank Wu along with colleagues from the Asia-Pacific Department. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the current operations and future development of the New Zealand-Taiwan Business Council (NZTBC), CIECA’s counterpart in New Zealand. Discussions also touched upon hosting the “Joint Conference of the New Zealand-Taiwan & Taiwan-New Zealand Business Councils” this mid-September. The conference will focus on potential areas of cooperation such as AI, smart agriculture, and the power sector, with the aim of further deepening the bilateral economic and trade partnership between Taiwan and New Zealand.
