On 2 June 2026, Secretary General Frank Wu of CIECA, accompanied by Mr. Kuan-Fu Chen, Vice President of China Steel Corporation; Mr. Vincent Chang, Vice Chairman of KPMG Taiwan and Chairman of ANZCham; and CIECA colleagues, welcomed Dr. Prudence Gordon, CEO of the Australian Centre for International Trade and Investment (ACITI), during her visit to Taiwan. Both sides exchanged views on Taiwan–Australia economic and trade cooperation and future directions for bilateral engagement. During the meeting, Secretary-General Wu introduced CIECA's operational framework, as well as its achievements and future plans in promoting Taiwan–Australia economic relations. Dr. Gordon shared an overview of ACITI's efforts in advancing trade and investment cooperation between Australia and Asia, and highlighted recent developments in Australia's industrial and economic policies. The two sides also exchanged views on the prospect for Taiwan–Australia cooperation and Taiwan's accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic ties through continued dialogue and collaboration.
