CIECA Hosted a Luncheon in Honor of the Representatives from the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SPCR)

To discuss the upcoming visit to the Czech Republic this October, CIECA hosted a luncheon at Dian Shui Lou on June 4, 2026. Secretary General Frank Wu welcomed the visiting guests from the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SPCR), including Board Member Mr. Petr Jonák and External Relations Manager Ms. Ivana Javorová, alongside Ms. Dominika Urhová, Head of the Science and Technology Section at the Czech Economic and Cultural Office （CECO）in Taipei. Mr. Terry Tsao, Chairman of the Taiwan-Czech Economic Cooperation Committee of CIECA and Global CMO & President of Taiwan SEMI, also attended the gathering. During the luncheon, Secretary General Wu outlined a CIECA plan for the "2026 Taiwan Economic and Trade Delegation to the Czech Republic and Luxembourg" scheduled for this October. The mission will focus on cutting-edge sectors such as AI, VR/XR, and the semiconductor supply chain. The delegation is also set to travel to Brno to attend the International Engineering Fair (MSV) and convene the 21st Session of the Taiwan-Czech Joint Business Council Meeting. Expressing great enthusiasm and support for the itinerary, the Czech guests were committed to inviting key local government ministers to the meeting and actively facilitating connections between industrial and academic resources of both sides. Furthermore, Ms. Urhová highlighted the Sigma Project, which is co-funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TACR), Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). She shared the project’s recent progress in hydrogen energy research and advanced chip design cooperation. Mr. Jonák also emphasized the Czech Republic's global competitiveness in 3D printing technologies, particularly across defense, medical prosthetics, and aerospace applications. He noted that as the international market increasingly values supply chain resilience, Czech products are expanding their global footprint. Looking ahead, he expressed a strong desire to foster closer cooperation with Taiwan in drone production and practical AI applications.
