From June 20 to 27, 2026, CIECA organized the “2026 Taiwan Investment Mission to Poland and Italy” in conjunction with ROC Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung's visit to Europe. The delegation comprised 26 representatives from Taiwan's leading industry associations and flagship enterprises, and was jointly led by Mr. Chih-Cheng Yeh, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation and Economic Affairs of MOFA, and Dr. Pei-Jen Chang, President of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). In Warsaw, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the Taiwan Expo in Europe, where the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA) announced its plan to establish the TEEMA Science Park in Miękinia, Lower Silesia, marking a significant milestone in Taiwan–Poland industrial cooperation. During the visit, the delegation also met with 16 representatives of the Polish Chamber of Commerce (KIG) to exchange views on opportunities for bilateral cooperation in areas including dual-use technologies and ICT.
In Milan, the delegation visited several major Taiwanese investments in Italy, including MEMC, a subsidiary of Global Wafers; HIWIN Technologies; and NHOA Energy, a subsidiary of Taiwan Cement Corporation (TCC). The delegation also attended the “Taiwan–Italy Supply Chain Resilience Forum” held at the Regional Council of Lombardy, where government and industry representatives discussed strategies to strengthen bilateral supply chain cooperation in sectors such as semiconductors, precision machinery, aerospace, and food industries.
The highlight of the Milan program was the “Taiwan–Italy Business Networking Event” held on June 25 and jointly organized by CIECA, Confindustria, and Confindustria Lombardia. The event brought together approximately 50 industry representatives from Taiwan and Italy. Welcome remarks were delivered by ROC Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung, Mr. Michael Chiu, Vice Chairman of HCG Group and Vice Chair of CIECA’s Poland Committee, and Mr. Giuseppe Pasini, President of Confindustria Lombardia.
