CIECA Attended the Reception Welcoming the Czech Senate President's Visit to Taiwan

On June 3, 2026, a welcome reception was held at the Regent Taipei, hosted by Czech Senate President Mr. Miloš Vystrčil and Representative David Steinke of Czech Economic and Cultural Office, Taipei. The evening brought together ambassadors from numerous countries, business and government leaders, and academic experts in a warm and engaging atmosphere. The reception opened with remarks from Czech’s Senate President Vystrčil, Representative Steinke, ROC Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung, and Vice President Johnny Chiang of Legislative Yuan. In President Vystrčil address, he underscored the requirement for cooperation across multiple fronts to advance Czech-Taiwan bilateral relations. President Vystrčil highlighted the particular importance of promoting concrete project initiatives, expanding trade, economic exchanges, and scientific research collaboration, as well as developing university partnerships. He further noted that civil society exchange programs, ongoing student visits, and growing cooperation in culture and sports are equally essential for deepening the friendship between the two nations. President Vystrčil also reflected on the landmark visit to Taiwan in 2023 by former speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová. That visit demonstrated the resilience and mutual trust of the democratic supply chain, having laid the groundwork for the wide-ranging Czech-Taiwan cooperation in trade, investment, and technology. The reception stood as a testament to the substantial progress in economic and trade ties between Taiwan and the Czech Republic. The guests’ in-depth dialogue spanning a broad range of fields reflected the rich cultural affinity shared by both nations, paving the way for furthering the long-term partnership.
