On the morning of May 14, 2026, a delegation led by Ms. Cindy Blanco, Secretary of Economic Development, Jalisco, Mexico visited CIECA. Vice Chairman Mike Hung, received the delegation. Ricardo Barbosa, Secretary of Labor, Jalisco, Safon Liu, Director of International Affairs of TEEMA, and Ms. Cathy Chin, Chairperson of Taiwan International Logistics & Supply Chain Association, also participated in the reception. During the meeting, Secretary Blanco made a presentation to the guests about Jalisco's investment environment and industrial advantages. She mentioned that the capital city of Jalisco, Guadalajara, is the second largest city in Mexico and that Jalisco, a key investment hub under the framework of the USMCA, stands as Mexico's second-largest exporting state. Notably, high-tech and electronic products account for approximately 72% of its total exports, with a growth rate significantly exceeding the national average. Secretary Blanco also highlighted Jalisco's proximity to the Port of Manzanillo, a vital gateway in Latin America handling roughly 50% of Mexico's cargo volume, which could serve as a critical logistics hub connecting Mexico with Taiwan and Asian markets. Furthermore, the Guadalajara International Airport ranks first in the nation for cargo volume. Both parties also exchanged views on the overall investment landscape, industrial cooperation, and future trade and economic exchange opportunities between Taiwan and Mexico.
