On January 30, 2026, Mr. Vincent Huang, Chairman of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic (TCCCZ), visited CIECA and was received by Secretary General Mr. Frank Wu. During the meeting, both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion regarding the industrial pulse and investment climate in the Czech Republic. Chairman Huang shared valuable firsthand information on the current operations of Taiwanese businesses in the region and the emerging industrial sectors promoted by the Czech government, providing a strategic vision for CIECA to identify future bilateral cooperation opportunities.
Following the meeting, Mr. Tito Tang, Director of the European Department, hosted a working luncheon with Chairman Huang and Ms. Kateřina Heinischová, Head of the Economic Section of the Czech Economic and Cultural Office (CECO) in Taipei. They discussed the preparations for the upcoming “21st Taiwan-Czech Joint Business Council Meeting” to be held in the Czech Republic later this year.
A key topic of interest was the “Czech Sovereign AI Initiative,” which involves the creation of a national-level data center. The two parties exchanged views on the project's importance for ensuring data sovereignty and explored how strategic computing power procurement could drive the widespread adoption of AI education.
Furthermore, Chairman Huang suggested that Taiwan’s initiatives for future trade and economic cooperation with the Czech Republic should reinforce contacts with CzechInvest, the official investment and business development agency, for enhancing cooperation efficiency.
