On January 29, 2026, Secretary General Frank Wu of CIECA, Taiwan received Mr. Zakhele Mnisi, Representative of the Liaison Office of South Africa. forming industrial alignment, CIECA invited prominent Taiwanese business leaders, including Mr. David Lin (General Manager of LEI YUEH ENTERPRISE CO., LTD.), Mr. Alex Yeung (CSO of Tex-Ray Industrial Co., Ltd.), Mr. Eden Chou (General Manager of Chia Zan), and Ms. Susan Wang (Chairman of AFTA Technology Co., Ltd.), to join the discussion on broadening economic and investment ties between Taiwan and South Africa.
Secretary General Wu noted that as one of Africa's most influential economies, South Africa’s industrial chain would be highly complementary to Taiwan’s. “CIECA is committed to serving as a bridge for Taiwanese industries, such as auto parts manufacturing, renewable energy, and agritech, to undertake technical exchange and production cooperation with South Africa to enter the vast African market,” Mr. Wu added.
Representative Zakhele Mnisi expressed his sincere appreciation for CIECA’s proactive role in promoting bilateral business exchanges. He echoed Mr. Wu’s view that South Africa, with its abundant natural resources, could serve as a strategic gateway for Taiwanese enterprises going into Africa. Addressing challenges posed by current global policy shifts and regional geopolitics, Representative Mnisi emphasized that the South African government highly values its economic partnership with Taiwan. He pledged to streamline business visa processes and assist Taiwanese investors in overcoming administrative hurdles.
During the meeting, Taiwanese entrepreneurs shared their market insights and strategic plans for South Africa. Both sides reached a consensus that through deep integration of their respective supply chains, a win-win outcome could be achieved to create a more robust economic relationship for the future.
