The 21st Taiwan-India Joint Business Councils Meeting Was Held

CIECA and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) held the ‘The 21st Taiwan-India Joint Business Councils Meeting’ on December 2 at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. The meeting was co-chaired by Clement Yang, CIECA Vice Chairman & Chairman of Medtecs (Taiwan) Corporation, and Mr. Manish Sharma, Chair of India-Taiwan CEOs Roundtable and FICCI Electronics and White Goods Committee and Chairman of India & South Asia, Panasonic Life Solutions. Distinguished guests at that event included Mr. Amardeep Singh Bhatia, India’s Secretary of DPIIT, Amb. Mumin Chen, Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India (TECC), and Ms. Vishwanjali Murlidhar Gaikwad, Acting Director General of India Taipei Association (ITA). Nearly 90 guests joined the event, and the atmosphere was warm and lively. The 21st Taiwan–India JBC Meeting featured presentations by Mr. Mark Yang, Associate Vice President of Embedded-IoT Group and AInterCon at Advantech, as well as Mr. Rahul Chaudhary, Head of Government and Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.; they both shared their insights on the smart manufacturing industry. In addition, George Lien, Senior Advisor of TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd., and Ms. Malvika Jain, Manager of Asia Region, Invest India, elaborated on investment opportunities between Taiwan and India. This Meeting would, hopefully, further strengthen bilateral economic and trade relations and foster new avenues for cooperation. CIECA and FICCI take turns hosting the Meeting annually in Taiwan and in India, as well as seminars on trade and investment occasionally. Through these activities, both sides aim to build a platform of communication between Taiwanese and Indian businesses to explore opportunities for investment and technology transfer, so as to further elevate bilateral economic cooperation.
