On October 27, 2025, Mr. Roberto De La Tore, President of the Lima Chamber of Commerce—CIECA’s counterpart in Peru—visited CIECA, who was accompanied by his wife, Cecilia Patricia Garcia Castro, and his special assistant, Mr. Renzo Emilio De La Tore. The meeting was hosted by CIECA Secretary General Mr. Frank Wu and joined by local industries’ representatives, including Mr. George Hu, Director of Megatone Electronics; Mr. Peter Chang, Chairman of e-Formula Technologies; and Mr. Jay Yen, CEO of Yen & Brothers Enterprise.
Secretary General Wu extended a warm welcome to President De La Tore for his first visit to Taiwan. President De La Tore introduced the Lima Chamber of Commerce, which has over 10,000 member companies spanning a wide range and scales of industries. He also emphasized the Chamber’s strong ties with both public and private sectors, enabling it to serve as a key platform for business promotion and policy dialogue in Peru.
During the exchange, Mr. Jay Yen indicated that Yen & Brothers’ primary seafood import from Peru is jumbo squid and expressed interest in exploring opportunities to expand into other seafood or processed products. Mr. Peter Chang presented e-Formula’s microgrid and financial models that help clients achieve carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and cost savings, particularly in such industries as shopping malls, hospitals, logistics, and data centers. Mr. George Hu introduced Megatone Electronics’ product lines and noted that despite the company’s export markets reached Argentina, Colombia, and Chile, they deeply hoped to identify suitable partners in Peru for future expansion.
Secretary General Wu ended the meeting with encouraging President De La Tore to support Taiwan’s accession to the CPTPP through which the bilateral trade and investment would definitely be further enhanced. President De La Tore pledged to communicate this request with the relevant authorities. He also shared that Peru recently passed a Special Economic Zone Act to offer tax incentives for investors and emphasized that Peru, the third-largest copper-producing country in the world, would like to invite Taiwanese semiconductor companies to consider investing in Peru to lower production costs and create mutual benefits.
