The 14th World Chambers Congress, a major biennial event for the international business community, organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and its World Chambers Federation (WCF), was held on September 2-4 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Australia. As the national committee of the ICC, CIECA, jointly organized a delegation with the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce (CNAIC) and the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) to attend the Congress. The delegation was led by CIECA Vice Chairman, Mr. Chang, Hung-Chia. The theme of the Congress was "Business, Chambers and Government: Partners in a Complex World." It featured in-depth discussions on how the public and private sectors can build closer partnership to meet common challenges in a rapidly changing global landscape. The delegation took this opportunity to exchange ideas with representatives from chambers of commerce world-wide, share Taiwan's economic and trade development experiences, and gain insights into the latest global industry trends. During the trip, in addition to participating in the Congress, the delegation was invited to a special tour organized by the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) for its members. Furthermore, Vice Chairman Chang had an in-depth dialogue with CACCI President Mr. Peter McMullin. They exchanged views on issues such as Taiwan-Australia economic cooperation and Taiwan's bid to join the CPTPP. President McMullin expressed affirmation of Taiwan's capacity to contribute to the region. Through participation in this important international conference, CIECA hopes to continue deepening the interaction between Taiwan's business community and international organizations. CIECA aims to transform the fruitful outcomes of these exchanges into tangible business opportunities and to develop more diverse international cooperation platforms for its member enterprises.
