On June 12, 2025, the Australia–Taiwan Business Council (ATBC) officially launched the 2025–2027 cohort of ATBC Young Business Leaders Program (YBL), which was concurrently held in Taipei and Sydney with online access. The event drew strong support from political, business, and academic communities across both countries, with 67 distinguished guests in attendance. Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Robert Fergusson, Representative of the Australian Office in Taipei, followed by Mr. John Toigo, Chairman of ATBC. Ambassador Douglas Yu-tien Hsu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia and Mr. Frank Wu, Secretary General of the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA), also addressed the audience. The event was supported by institutions including the Australian Office in Taipei, CIECA, Griffith Business School, ANZCham Taiwan, and Sparke Helmore Lawyers, underscoring the program’s solid foundation of Taiwan-Australia collaboration. The YBL program is designed to identify and support emerging business leaders from Australia and Taiwan and equip them with leadership skills, cross-cultural awareness, and market insight. Twelve participants were selected for the inaugural cohort, each working across sectors such as renewable energy, semiconductors, and blockchain. Looking ahead, the cohort will take part in the “Track II Dialogue” on August 20 and the “38th Australia–Taiwan Joint Business Conference” in Taipei on August 21. This long-standing joint business conference has served as a key platform for Taiwan-Australia bilateral economic dialogue and will be held at the Far Eastern Plaza Hotel later this year.
