The “2025 Taiwan Economic & Trade Delegation to Sweden, Finland, and Belgium” organized by CIECA made visits of the above countries from May 31 to June 15, 2025. A total of 70 representatives from the government, public associations and private enterprises joined the delegation activities.
CIECA and Business Sweden co-hosted “the 41st Sweden-Taiwan Joint Business Council Meeting” on June 3. The meeting focused on “ICT (5G/6G and LEO satellite)” and was co-chaired by Dr. Chung-Yung Chia, President of Network Technology Group of Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. and Mr. Mikael Bäck, Vice President & Corporate Officer, Technology & Strategy Unit of Ericsson. Ms. Cynthia Kiang, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, R.O.C., Mr. Håkan Jevrell, State Secretary to Minister for International Development Co-operation and Foreign Trade, Sweden, and Mr. Jan Larsson, CEO of Swedish Trade and Invest Council were invited to deliver remarks.
The delegation to Sweden visited Kista Space Cluster, Research Institutes of Sweden, Ericsson Imagine Studio, and Swedish Space Corporation.
CIECA and Business Finland co-hosted “the 12th Finland-Taiwan Business Forum” on June 5. The Forum focused on the topic of “ICT” and “Microelectronics & quantum technology”. The said forum was co-chaired by Mr. Jeff Doong, Technical Marketing Director of Macro-nix International Co., Ltd., and Mr. Jusa Susia, Senior Director of International Operations, Business Finland. Ms. Cynthia Kiang, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, R.O.C. and Mr. Petri Peltonen, Un-der-Secretary of State, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Finland were invited to deliver re-marks.
The delegation’s visit in Finland visited NOKIA Experience Center, IQM Quantum Computers, VTT Technical Research Centre of Fin-land, ReOrbit, Tampere University, and Business Tampere.
In Belgium, CIECA co-hosted “the 25th Taiwan-Belgium Joint Business Council Meeting” with Flanders In-vestment & Trade (FIT), Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX), and Hub. Brussels on June 11. The Meeting focused on the topics of “Technology driven by semiconductors” and “Bridging Europe and Asia: Taiwan–Belgium Logistics Collaboration.” The said meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Chi-Yuan Chin, Chairman of Silicon Touch Technology Inc., and Mr. Piet Demunter, Acting CEO of FIT. Mr. Joseph Jye-Cherng Lyu, Chairman of Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA), Taiwan, and Dr. Roy Chun Lee, Representative, Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium were invited to deliver remarks.
The delegation’s program in Belgium included B2B matchmaking as well as the visits to Be Central, Liège Airport, Liège Trilogiport, Imec, and Flanders Make.
