A Courtesy Visit of CIECA to the British Office in Taipei

On April 17, 2025, Director Tito Tang of CIECA paid a courtesy visit on Mr. Joel Derbyshire, Director of Trade and Investment at the British Office in Taipei. The two sides engaged in an in-depth dialogue regarding CIECA Chairman Lyu’s upcoming visit to the UK in June and future opportunities for Taiwan-UK cooperation. During the meeting, Mr. Derbyshire provided valuable suggestions for the Chairman’s visit and recommended several organizations to Chairman’s consideration to make courtesy calls, aiming to enrich the visit’s agenda and further strengthen bilateral economic and trade exchanges between Taiwan and the UK. In addition, Director Joel Derbyshire expressed strong interest in CIECA’s long-standing efforts in promoting international cooperation and its customized engagement models with various countries. He looked forward to receiving information on CIECA’s key areas of foreign collaboration, such as the semiconductor sector and related initiatives, for which would help the UK further assess future directions and the entry points for Taiwan-UK cooperation, with the aim of facilitating substantive economic and technological collaboration.
