A Courtesy Visit by Madam Ambassador Grace Ya-Kuang Chang

On April 24, 2025, the newly appointed Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Portugal, Ms. Grace Ya-Kuang Chang, paid a courtesy visit on Chairman Joseph Lyu. The meeting was joined by Secretary-General Frank Wu, Deputy Secretary-General Charlie Chiang and Director Tito Tang. During the meeting, Chairman Lyu extended a warm welcome to Representative Chang and had an in-depth discussion on promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Taiwan and Portugal. Representative Chang highlighted Portugal’s strategic position as a gateway to the European market, emphasizing its advantageous geographic location and highly open business environment. She encouraged Taiwanese enterprises to increase their engagement with Portugal and designated Portugal as one of Taiwan’s key partners for expanding bilateral trade, investment, and industrial cooperation. Representative Chang further shared insights into Portugal’s strengths in sectors such as food processing, green energy technology, digital transformation, port logistics, and renewable energy. She expressed her commitment to facilitating connections between promising enterprises and industry partners from both sides. Chairman Lyu expressed his strong support for Representative Chang’s proactive efforts in promoting Taiwan-Portugal economic cooperation. He affirmed that CIECA would positively consider positioning Portugal as an important node within its European cooperation framework. “Looking ahead, CIECA will explore organizing business missions to Portugal, with the aim of strengthening ties with Portuguese business community and creating broader opportunities for bilateral cooperation,” Chairman Lyu said.
