To help strengthen international economic cooperation and solidify diplomatic relations, CIECA organized, in coordination with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the 2025 Economic Cooperation and Business Opportunities Delegation to Eswatini.
Coinciding with the visit of Foreign Minister Chia-Lung Lin as the Special Envoy of the ROC President to the Kingdom of Eswatini, a Taiwan’s important diplomatic ally in Africa, the said delegation made the visit from April 21 to 27.
The delegation aimed to support Taiwanese enterprises in exploring overseas markets, foster bilateral industrial collaboration, and reinforce the long-standing friendship between Taiwan and Eswatini.
During the trip, the delegation conducted on-site visits, engaged in key bilateral meetings, and participated in the national celebration of the 57th birthday of His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini.
The delegation was composed of enterprises from a wide range of industries including textiles, petrochemicals, civil and electrical engineering, electric vehicles, telecommunications, construction, and real estate. These sectors happen to closely match Eswatini’s development priorities.
Mr. Lin Zui-Yeh, Chairman of TexRay Industrial Co., Ltd., served as the Chief Delegate, with Mr. Lin Wen-Yuan, Chairman of Overseas Investment & Development Corp., and Ms. Liao Tzu-Chen, Chairperson of Taiwan Optical Platform, serving as co-leader of the delegation.
On the evening of April 22, the delegation attended a welcome banquet hosted by the overseas Chinese community of Southern Africa in honor of Special Envoy Lin. Over one hundred Taiwan’s diaspora from Eswatini, South Africa, Mozambique, and other African countries were present at that event, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
On the morning of April 23, the delegation attended the achievement report presentation by the “Women’s Entrepreneurship Microcredit Revolving Fund,” witnessing the success and impact of Taiwan's support for women’s entrepreneurial development in Eswatini. To date, the fund has issued over 500 loans, improving the living conditions of many local families and empowering women to achieve economic independence. In the afternoon, the delegation participated in the investment promotion briefing and a luncheon hosted by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), where the co-leader of the delegation, Ms. Liao Tzu-Chen de-livered remarks. Over 80 participants attended the event, during which Mr. Martin Masilela, the project leader introduced investment opportunities in Eswatini, including stationery manufacturing, food processing, and electronics.
On the morning of April 24, the delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of Eswatini’s “5G and Smart City Development Project Monitoring Center.” Taiwan has been actively assisting Eswatini in establishing an exclusive 5G net-work that connects transportation, public security, and disaster prevention systems, with the goal of developing Mbabane, Eswatini’s capital city, into a smart city. In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Royal Science and Technology Park for hearing a briefing and exchanging views with experts. Later in the evening, the group toured the textile factory operated by TexRay Indus-trial Co., Ltd. in Eswatini to gain deeper insights into the investment and operational status of Taiwanese enterprises in the country.
On the afternoon of April 25, the delegation traveled to the Shiselweni region in southern Eswatini to attend the 57th birthday celebration of King Mswati III. After days of continuous rain, the event was blessed with a clear blue sky, white clouds, and bright sunshine, symbolizing not only a beautiful beginning of celebrations but also a bright future for Taiwan-Eswatini friendship.

That evening, the delegation attended a welcome banquet hosted by the Southern Africa overseas Chinese community in honor of Special Envoy Lin.
