Taiwan-Hungary Smart City Networking Event Was Held on March 18

On March 18, 2025, the “Taiwan-Hungary Smart City Networking Event” was successfully held at TaiNEX 2. The event was organized by CIECA in collaboration with the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), New Taipei City Computer Association, Taiwan Green Energy Association, Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), and the Hungarian Trade Office (HTO) in Taipei. The event aimed for exchanging views on related subjects such as IT, AI, green energy, architecture, ESG, logistics and transportation, attracting approximately 70 representatives from industry associations and enterprises from both Taiwan and Hungary. During the opening ceremony, Mr. Joseph Jye-Cherng Lyu, Chairman of CIECA, and Mr. Frank Liu, Chairman of Taiwan-Hungary Committee, CIECA, and CEO of Chi Fu Investment Holdings Group, de-livered remarks on behalf of Taiwan side. Representing Hungarian side, Mr. Péter Keszthelyi, Vice President of International and Foreign Economy Cabinet, from Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), and Mr. Gergely Kádár, Representative of HTO in Taipei also delivered responding remarks. Besides, Mr. Philip T.Y. Wang, Senior Global Advisor from TCA, delivered remarks, too, on behalf of the organizer of the Smart City Expo. The highlight of the event was the MoU signing ceremony between TAISE and Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI). In the presence of all attendees, Chairman Dr. Eugene Chien of TAISE and Mr. Gabor Kiss, Chief Advisor to the President of HCCI signed the agreement, marking a new milestone in bilateral collaboration. To further deepen Taiwan-Hungary industry cooperation, the event featured two expert speakers. Dr. James Chiao, Chairman of Smart Cities Committee of CIECA, shared in-sights on collaboration opportunities in smart solutions between Taiwan and Hungary. Principal Chungwei Su, from JJP Architects & Planners presented case studies on low-carbon smart buildings, including TSMC Fab 18 and Advantech Linkou Campus, encouraging mutual cooperation in decarburization technology, clean energy, and green investment.
