ROC’s MOFA and CIECA co-hosted the 2025 Saint Kitts and Nevis Trade & Investment Promotion Seminar at the Regent, Taipei on March 18, 2025. As one of Taiwan’s steadfast diplomatic allies in the Caribbean, Saint Kitts and Nevis sent an official delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Right Honorable Dr. Denzil Douglas to visit Taiwan in mid-March. Except for strengthening diplomatic ties, the delegation aimed to deepen business relations between Taiwan and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The seminar sought to enhance economic, investment, and industrial exchanges between the two countries by providing Taiwanese entrepreneurs, investors, and government officials with a better understanding of Saint Kitts and Nevis' business environment. Nearly 70 representatives from government, industry, and academia participated in the event.
At first, CIECA Chairman Joseph Jye-Cherng Lyu delivered welcoming remarks, then followed by speakers from both sides, including MOFA Secretary General Daniel Diann-Wen Tang and Minister Denzil Douglas who delivered opening remarks. Additionally, senior officials from Saint Kitts and Nevis made insight-ful presentations on the country’s investment environment and ad-vantages, covering tourism, agriculture, real estate development, renewable energy, electronic components, offshore finance, and e-commerce. The seminar highlighted opportunities for Taiwanese businesses to invest in Saint Kitts and Nevis, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
Located in the Eastern Caribbean, Saint Kitts and Nevis comprises Saint Kitts Island and Nevis Island, with English as its official language. It enjoys the highest per capita in-come in the Eastern Caribbean region. It has a well-developed infra-structure, a sound financial system, and a stable exchange rate for its official currency, the Eastern Carib-bean Dollar (XCD), together with a mature democratic and legal system emulated from the British model. Saint Kitts and Nevis offers a secure and favorable environment for foreign investment.
