On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Mr. Marco Lombardi, Head of the Italian Economic, Trade, and Cultural Promotion Office in Taipei accompanied by Mr. Enrico Condemi, Director of the Italian Trade Agency, Taipei Office and his deputy Mr. Luigi Raffone, came to CIECA to call on Chairman Joseph Jye-Cherng Lyu.
As the three distinguished guests visited our association for the first time, Chairman Lyu gave a brief introduction of the association’s main activities and initiatives, as well as potential future collaborations. “In the past, our association primarily focused on economic and trade exchanges between Taiwan and Italy. We look forward, however, to expanding cooperation into other areas such as culture, arts, and education in the future,” Chairman Lyu said.
Mr. Marco Lombardi also highlighted Italy’s strong capacity in such industries as culture, fashion, design, automobile, and ICT. Given Italy’s geographical proximity to Africa, he noted that his country could serve as an important gateway for Taiwanese businesses trying to enter the African market. “An Italian Chamber of Commerce will soon be established in Taiwan; he hopes for more future collaborations between that chamber of commerce and CIECA,” Lombardi continued.
