To assist Taiwan businessmen in seeking commercial opportunities in European market, CIECA organized the “Taiwan Economic & Trade Delegation to Poland and Slovakia” where they held forums and paid on-site visits from November 19 to 28, 2024. Ms. Wang Hsing-Chih, Managing Director, Chunghwa Telecom Europe GmbH served as the head of the delegation. Mr. James Chiao, Board Director of CIECA and CEO of Smart Cities Consulting Technology Inc., served as the Deputy Head. A total of 28 representatives from 19 companies joined this delegation, whose members included industries from information communications, smart cities, IoT, food, medical technology, and green energy.
The delegation attended in Warsaw a business exchange meeting co-organized by the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Digital Poland Association. The delegation met with 39 experts from Polish companies to exchange views on smart city solutions, IT, telecommunications, and software and hardware businesses.
Except attending the “Polish-Taiwanese Economic Cooperation Forum” to promote cooperation in the fields of smart cities, energy transformation and high-tech industries, the delegation visited the Smolna Entrepreneurship Center to explore smart cities and innovative cooperation opportunities, the Adia electric bicycle factory in Kutno City, and the Compal Computer Repair Center in Łódź City. In addition, the delegation was present in a donation ceremony hosted by Dr. Lin Chia-Lung, R.O.C. Foreign Minister, in which generators and laptops were donated to the Association of Ukrainian Cities. Moreover, they witnessed the signing of “Taiwan-Ukraine 5G Smart City Demonstration Zone” cooperation project and the cooperation memorandum between the Taiwan-Poland Chamber of Commerce and the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
After ending their trip to Poland, the delegation went to Slovakia to attend the “Taiwan-Slovak Enterprise Exchange Meeting.” They also visited the ESET, a computer security software company and the Photoneo3D smart scanning logistics management system invested by Taishan Investment Company.
