TEEMA held the “Business Opportunity Seminar & TEEMA Dinner Reception for the State of Chihuahua, Mexico” at the Grand Hotel Taipei at 6:30 p.m. on October 22, 2024. Ms. María Eugenia Campos Galván, Governor of the State of Chihuahua, Mexico led a delegation to visit Taiwan in the hope of attracting Taiwanese businesses to make commercial layout and operation in Mexico. This event gathered experts from Taiwanese industries, government, and academia who are interested in developing Mexican market.
Ms. Jen-Ni Yang, Minister without Porfolio and Chief Trade Representative, Executive Yuan, and Mr. Richard Lee, Chairman of TEEMA both delivered speeches to welcome the delegation. Mr. Mike Hung, Vice Chairman of CIECA also attended the event.
During the explanatory session, delegates from the Mexican state of Chihuahua depicted that local economic achievements attracted foreign direct investment worth US$1.8 billion in 2022, and emphasized the importance of Taiwanese investment in Mexico. The briefings in the event also described Chihuahua's industrial parks, manufacturing capabilities, and the state's leading industries such as aerospace, automobiles, electronics, drones, and medical de-vices. Finally, they mentioned energy infrastructure, talent development, incentives provided by the state government, and cordial welcome of more Taiwanese companies to invest in Mexico.
