CIECA organized the “2024 Taiwan Economic & Trade Delegation to Denmark, Austria and Czech Re-public” where they held bilateral meetings and made on-site visits of local establishments from October 1 to 13, 2024. Mr. Chin Chi-Yuan, Executive Board Director of CIECA (Chairman of Silicon Touch Technology Inc.), serves as the Chief Delegate. The delegation’s visits focused on “Green Transformation,” “Smart City,” and “Smart Manufacturing.” The purpose of this mission is to help Taiwanese companies grasp the latest international trends of industrial development through participating in bilateral meetings and making on-site visits.
The 22-member delegation’s first stop was Denmark where they had discussion with Danish experts on carbon reduction technologies, visited local R&D institutions and leading companies to obtain an in-depth understanding of innovative carbon reduction solutions. On October 3, CIECA and Danish Industry co-hosted “the 3rd Tai-wan-Denmark Joint Business Council Meeting.” This meeting invited heavyweight industries leaders from both countries to discuss the latest developments in green transformation and smart manufacturing. A total of 40 people from both sides attended this event.
Denmark’s State of Green, a public-private partnership promoting cleantech solutions concerning cli-mate change, arranged the Taiwan delegation to visit the House of Green to discuss Denmark’s pioneering practices and for-ward-looking strategies in green carbon reduction policies and applications. Later on, the delegation went to Scan Global Logistics to learn more about its innovative solutions in the field of Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Finally, the delegation paid a visit to GreenGo Energy Group. Both sides had a very constructive dialogue on the solutions to renewable energy and discussed how to help enterprises improve energy efficiency through scientific energy planning and refined management.
Subsequently, the delegation went to Austria and the Czech Republic, where they held bilateral meetings and made on-site visits, mainly focusing on discussing “Smart City” and “Green Transformation.”
In Austria, CIECA and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WKO) co-hosted “the 14th Tai-wan-Austria Joint Business Council Meeting” on October 8. Ms. Astrid Fixl-Pummer, Deputy Director General of Advantage Austria, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and Ms. Katharine Chang, Head of Mission, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Austria were invited to deliver remarks respectively. Ms. Cynthia Kiang, Director General of the International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA); and Mr. Hermann Ortner, Director of Austrian Commercial Office, Taipei (affiliated to Ad-vantage Austria); and Mr. Christian Helbig, Director of Austrian Office in Taipei (affiliated to Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs) were invited to deliver, in a pre-recorded video, speeches to share views on how to promote smart city construction and green transformation. During the meeting, representatives from well-known Taiwanese companies such as Advantech, Asustek Computer, and Fair Friend Group shared with experts from Austrian industries their valuable experiences in smart manufacturing, innovative technology, and green energy solutions. A total of 70 people from both parties at-tended the meeting.
Finally, the delegation arrived in the Czech Republic to attend the MSV International Engineering Fair in Brno, which is the most important industrial fair in Central Europe in the field of industrial machinery. The exhibition is well-known for bringing together the world's top companies and providing an excellent platform for extensive discussions on the latest technologies and innovative applications. CIECA and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic co-hosted “the 19th Session of the Taiwan-Czech Joint Business Council Meeting” on October 10. The said meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Kateřina Kupková, Vice-President, Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and Dr. Chin Chi-Yuan, Executive Board Director of CIECA (Chairman of Silicon Touch Technology Inc.). Mr. Petr Očko, Director General of Digitalization and Innovation Section, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and Mr. Liang-Ruey Ke, Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague were invited to deliver remarks respectively. During the meeting, iconic companies from the two countries shared their respective industrial development experiences and conduct solid exchanges of market insights. A total of 50 people from both sides attended the meeting.
