On July 3, 2024, Mr. Luis Kao, CEO of I-Mei, received a Latin American delegation consisting of Mr. Oscar Adolfo Padilla Lam, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to the ROC; Mr. Fernando Mariano Schmidt Hernández, Director of the Chilean Trade Office in Taipei; Mr. José Silguero, First Secretary of the Paraguay Embassy to the ROC and his wife, Mrs. Norma de Silguero; and Mr. Francisco Javier Martínez, Chief Officer of the Mexican Trade Services Documentation and Cultural Office in Taipei at I-Mei’s food factory in Longtan, Taoyuan.
The well-known I-Mei brand has been existing for more than 90 years. With diversified production lines and a forward-looking development plan, three factories have been built in Longtan to support I-Mei’s production line as well as doing research and development. The Latin America delegation visited the Logtan factory with a heavy schedule, ranging from seeing production equipment for raw products to the technology of oil processing, dried fruit freezing, vacuum drying systems, plant nutrient extraction, biomedical cell research, and the recent developed drone tech on inventory and warehousing. All those guests highly praised I-Mei’s endeavor and looked forward to more opportunities to cooperate with I-Mei.
During the visit, I-Mei’s colleagues particularly stressed that Chilean strawberries and raisins as well as Mexican pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds have been utilized in I-Mei’s products.
After the tour, Mr. Luis Kao, CEO of I-Mei, had a solid discussion with the distinguished guests. Not only did all the guests learn a lot about I-Mei’s business operation and future development plan.
Ambassador Oscar Adolfo Padilla Lam of Guatemala but also tried to fix another meeting in future to discuss with CEO Kao about the possibilities of utilizing Hawaiian beans and coffee beans in food processing industries in Guatemala.
On July 22, the Malaysian Friend-ship and Trade Center (MFTC) in Taipei and the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei (IETO) were invited by CIECA to visit I-Mei’s food factory in Longtan, Taoyuan. Mr. Frank Wu, Secretary General of CIECA led Ms. Muse Wu, Director of CIECA and her colleagues to accompany officials from the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Center and the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei to pay a visit of the factory.
Mrs. Aznifah Isnariah Binti Abdul Ghani, President and Representative, Malaysian Friendship and Trade Center, Taipei, said that Taiwan could consider expanding Halal Food market; Mr. Eko Wijanarko, Director of Investment Department, Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei (IETO) echoed her comments and expressed Indonesia's willingness to assist the company in exploring the Indonesian halal food market in Taiwan.
