CIECA Organized a Delegation to visit Seoul, South Korea and Successfully Held the 48th Joint Conference of ROC-Korea and Korea-Taiwan Business Councils

Taiwan Delegation to the 48th Joint Conference of ROC-Korea and Korea-Taiwan Business Councils was headed by Mr. Jimmy Chu, Chairman of Fair Friend Group, and also Chairman, CIECA’s ROC-Korea Business Council, to make a visit of South Korea from July 17 to 20. The delegation included a total of 37 people from sectors of energy, machine tools, logistics, food, tourism, steel, law and finance. It is hoped that through this visit, the cooperation in various fields and business opportunities between Taiwan and South Korea can be further developed. “The 48th Joint Conference of ROC-Korea and Korea-Taiwan Business Councils” was held at the Convention Center of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) in Seoul on July 19, 2024 and was co-chaired by Mr. Jimmy Chu, Chairman, ROC-Korea Business Council, CIECA, Taiwan and Dr. Joon Kim, Chairman of Korea-Taiwan Business Council, FKI. Mr. Liang Kuang-Chung, Representative of Taipei Mission in Korea, was invited to deliver a speech. Nearly a hundred people from Taiwan and South Korea attended the conference. This conference focused on “E-Commerce, Logistics & Distribution Cooperation,” “Food/Beverage, Tourism, and Start-up Cooperation,” “New Energy Cooperation,” and “Machine Tools & Future Generation Cooperation.” Both sides had in-depth exchanges of views aiming to explore more business opportunities. Speakers on the focused topics included: Ms. Jamie Chou, Director, Coupang, Taiwan Branch; Mr. Erin Lin, Vice President, Brand E-commerce, Taiwan Mobile; Mr. Kim Tae Chun, Vice Chairman & CEO, Genesis BBQ; Ms. Haemin Yim, Founder & CEO, Creatrip; Mr. Jack Lee, Vice President, Lion Travel Service Co., Ltd.; Mr. Jack Hwang, LS Cable & System; Mr. Carlos Tung, Team Lead, APAC Wind PE/DD, DNV AS Taiwan Branch; Mr. Jimmy Chu, Chairman, Fair Friend Group; and Dr. Hwang Sun Ha, CEO, AJA School. The itinerary for the delegation was rich and diverse, including visits of the LG Science Park and Hyundai Goyang Motor Studio and presence of the welcome dinner hosted by FKI on July 18. On the afternoon of July 19, the delegation visited Food-Tech Company GOPIZZA and Blue House. Through this visit, the delegation has learned more about South Korea's leading innovative R&D base, the latest technology of Hyundai Motors, the development of food technology, and the development of tourist attractions.
