At the invitation of CIECA, Mr. Mihai Daraban, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) led a six-member Romanian delegation to visit Taiwan from June 1 to 6, 2024. The members of Romanian delegation were from SOCEP Constanța (the operator of Constanța--the largest port in the Black Sea region); Euro-Vial Residence & Lighting (smart home equipment manufacturer); Celco and Sammarina SA (construction engineering companies). The said delegation visited Taiwan not only to explore potential business opportunities in the fields of port logistics and construction engineering, but also to learn more about Taiwan’s major industries. The Romanian side gave an in-depth introduction to the facilities and sustainable digital development goals of the Port of Constanța, as well as the city construction of Constanța. The participants in this forum from the Taiwan side included Taiwan Association of Logistics Management, the ROC National Association of Shipping Agencies, the Taipei Airfreight Forwarders & Logistics Association, and the National Imports & Exports Chamber of Commerce. About 60 experts from industries, government, and academia and research institute attended the event. After the forum, CIECA arranged for Taiwanese and Romanian participants to introduce their respective companies’ businesses and held a luncheon for further exchanges of views. The interaction was lively.
During the Romanian delegation’s visit in Taiwan, they called on Tai-wan International Ports Corporation, Ltd., TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd., Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Computex. The said delegation had a comprehensive understanding of Taiwan's industrial development and hoped to have more cooperation with Taiwanese companies to create new business opportunities in the future.
