The 16th Joint Meeting between Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA), Taiwan was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore on June 11, 2024. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Kuo Shui-Yi, Chairman of Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. and Singapore Committee of CIECA, Taiwan and Mr. Peter Seah, Non-Executive Chairman of DBS Group Holdings & DBS Bank. Mr. Tung Chen-Yuan, Representative of Taipei Representative Office in the Republic of Singapore, also attended the meeting in showing his support of Taiwan-Singapore non-governmental economic cooperation. The meeting focused on “Digitalization” and attracted more than 130 enterprises from Taiwan and Singapore. This meeting explored the impact of digital transformation on various key industries. The topics included “Application of Digitalization in the Finance Sector,” “Galvanizing Sustainability through Green and Digital Transitions,” and “Digital Trans-formation in Key Sectors.” Business representatives were invited from both sides to share and ex-change views. After the meeting, SBF and CIECA arranged participants to visit relevant local companies to observe the development of digital transformation in Singapore. “The Joint Meeting between Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and CIECA, Taiwan” was held again after a five-year hiatus. This was also the first time that Chairman Kuo Shui-Yi led a delegation to Singapore to host a bilateral meeting. The Joint Meeting between Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and CIECA, Taiwan has been an important non-governmental mechanism be-tween Taiwan and Singapore for 30 years, providing a platform for communication and cooperation between the business communities of both sides. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Agreement be-tween Singapore and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu on Economic Partnership (ASTEP). Business representatives from both sides gathered to witness and celebrate the milestone of Singapore-Taiwan economic cooperation.
