Trade & Investment Opportunities in Nicaragua

Mr. Javier Chamorro, Director of PRONicaragua, visited Taiwan for the second time from April 8 to 12 on the invitation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Taiwan and Nicaragua signed the FTA implemented since January 1, 2008. In order to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation between Taiwan and Nicaragua, CIECA organized a Seminar on “Trade and Investment Opportunities in Nicaragua” in April 10, 2013 at 4F, VIP Room 6, Regent Taipei Hotel. The seminar was hosted by Dr. Han Sun Chien, Vice Chairman of Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) and honored with the gracious presence of Mr. Jaime Chin-Mu Wu, Director-General of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Mr. Chiu, Yi-Cheh, Director General, Department of Investment Services, MOEA and H.E. William Tapia, Republic of Nicaragua Ambassador to Republic of China, who all delivered their special remarks in the opening ceremony. Director Chamorro delivered a presentation entitled “Let’s grow together, Nicaragua”, in which he introduced Nicaragua’s economic profile, investment environment and Nicaragua Grand Canal draft. When answering questions from participants in the end of the seminar, Director Chamorro encouraged Taiwanese business people to seize the opportunities that Nicaragua has to offer and suggested them to consult with PRONicaragua for detailed information and further questions.
